Hyderabad, May 8: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government aims to irrigate Kodangal lands with Krishna river water as part of its long term development plans for the constituency.
The Chief Minister made the remarks during a visit to Kodangal in Vikarabad district on Thursday. He participated in the ground breaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, which will be developed at a cost of Rs 110 crore.
Addressing a public meeting, Revanth Reddy said Kodangal is being developed as a model constituency for the country. He added that the government is focusing on infrastructure, irrigation, education, and temple development in the region.
Krishna Water for Kodangal Development
The Chief Minister said the government plans to bring Krishna river water to irrigate agricultural lands in Kodangal. He also asked local leaders not to worry about the issue, stating that ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha and Srihari are closely monitoring the project.
Revanth Reddy further said Lagacharla is being transformed into an education hub with new initiatives planned for students and institutions.
He stated that Kodangal had never received a ministerial berth earlier. However, he said the constituency now holds greater importance as he represents it as both MLA and Chief Minister.
During the visit, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stones virtually for development works related to temples in Daultabad and Kosgi.
The government has recently intensified development activities in Kodangal constituency, focusing on irrigation, road connectivity, education infrastructure, and temple restoration projects.
