Hyderabad, May 8 (Maxim News) : R. V. Karnan conducted a field inspection in Krishnanagar under the Yousufguda Circle to review recurring water stagnation issues ahead of the monsoon season. The inspection focused on identifying vulnerable locations affected by flooding and poor drainage during heavy rains.
The GHMC Commissioner was accompanied by A. V. Ranganath and Maganti Gopinath constituency representative leaders during the visit. Officials inspected roads and storm water drains impacted by heavy silt accumulation, which has been causing blockage and overflow during rains.
Residents explained the difficulties faced every monsoon due to inundated roads, traffic congestion, and sanitation problems. Locals also raised concerns over delayed drainage clearance and recurring civic issues in low lying areas.
During the inspection, the Commissioner instructed engineering and sanitation officials to immediately begin large scale desilting operations in the affected stretches. He also directed officials to improve storm water drain connectivity and ensure smooth water flow before the onset of heavy rains.
Officials reviewed ongoing civic works and assessed the progress of pre monsoon preparedness activities in the locality. The GHMC Commissioner ordered departments to complete all pending works on priority to avoid flooding and inconvenience to residents during the rainy season.
Authorities also discussed long term solutions to address chronic waterlogging in vulnerable pockets of Krishnanagar and surrounding areas. Officials said preventive measures would help reduce road damage, traffic disruption, and public health concerns during intense rainfall.
Residents welcomed the proactive inspection and appreciated the intervention by GHMC and HYDRAA officials. They expressed hope that the planned measures would provide lasting relief from recurring monsoon related problems in the area.
The Greater Hyderabad civic administration has intensified pre monsoon preparedness activities across several flood prone localities in the city as part of efforts to improve urban drainage management before the rainy season. (Maxim News)
