Telangana medical transfers | Hyderabad, May 11: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Monday said the transfer process in the Medical and Health Department would be conducted in a fully transparent manner as per GO 38 issued by the State government. The minister assured doctors that the transfer exercise would follow clear guidelines without any irregularities.
The minister held a meeting with representatives of the Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGDA) at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
During the meeting, doctors requested the government to continue the offline transfer system, stating that previous general transfers were conducted transparently. They also sought exemption from transfers for TGDA office bearers.
Doctors further urged the government to allow employees who completed two years of service to participate in transfers. They also requested an opportunity for doctors serving in medical colleges in districts to shift to colleges in Hyderabad.
Transparent medical transfers in Telangana

Responding to the requests, Damodar Rajanarasimha said the government would implement transfers strictly according to the guidelines mentioned in GO 38. He stated that the State government was strengthening medical education and improving healthcare services across Telangana. Therefore, he stressed that cooperation from doctors remained crucial.
The minister said transfers would be carried out by considering the needs of medical colleges and hospitals. He added that the government would ensure that administration, teaching activities, and clinical services continue smoothly without disruption.
He also stated that doctors who have been serving for a long time in district hospitals and medical colleges would get an opportunity in the transfer process. The government, he said, aims to balance staff requirements while ensuring better healthcare delivery for the public.
Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, Joint Secretary Ayesha, Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Dr Sangeetha Satyanarayana, TGMSIDC Managing Director Gaurav Uppal, Director of Medical Education Narendra Kumar, TVVP Commissioner Ajay Kumar, TGDA president Narahari, general secretary Lalu Prasad, and other officials attended the meeting.
