Since the case is sensitive, the DGP has decided to continue the investigation under the supervision of a female IPS officer. Since the victim is a girl and in view of the seriousness of the allegations in this case, precautions are being taken to ensure that no flaws occur in the investigation. It is reported that the SIT team has already started collecting evidence related to the case. The police have recorded the girl’s statement as per legal provisions. The authorities are trying to uncover more details based on this statement. CCTV footage, call data and digital evidence are also likely to be examined as part of the investigation.

A case has been registered against Bhagirath at Pet Basheerabad police station in Hyderabad over the incident. Based on the girl’s complaint and primary evidence, the police registered a case and started an investigation. After this case came to light, political turmoil started across the state. It is reported that the police have registered a case under various sections including the POCSO Act. Since it is a case related to a girl, legal procedures are being implemented with utmost care.(Maxim News)
