Hyderabad, May 13: NEET paper leak case saw the CBI take a woman into custody in Pune as the probe intensifies across states.
The Central Bureau of Investigation expanded its action after registering a case on Tuesday. Officials took multiple suspects into custody for questioning. Two men from Rajasthan, Mangilal and Dinesh, were detained earlier on Wednesday.
In addition, a woman from Pune was taken into custody in the NEET paper leak case. Local police detained her before handing her over to the CBI.
NEET paper leak case sees CBI step up investigation
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the woman was held in the Bibwewadi area. He confirmed that she was later handed over to CBI officials. However, he did not disclose her exact role in the case.
The NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted on May 3. It covered admissions to undergraduate medical courses. The exam took place in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
Around 23 lakh students registered for the exam. Of them, 96.92 percent appeared for the test. However, the alleged leak has created anxiety among candidates.
Meanwhile, parents have expressed concern over the situation. Student groups have also staged protests. They are demanding a fair probe and justice for affected students.
