The accused was identified as Nannuta Madhav, 42, a resident of Warasiguda and native of Bhupalpally district. Police said he had failed Intermediate studies and did not possess any recognised medical, pharmacy or clinical qualification.
Acting on specific information, Warasiguda Police conducted a decoy operation to catch the accused red handed. A head constable dressed in plain clothes visited the clinic pretending to be a patient. During the visit, the accused allegedly attempted to administer an injection without any prescription or medical examination.
Immediately, the police team raided the premises and detained him. During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed that he had been treating patients illegally and administering scheduled injections such as Diclofenac and Tetanus Toxoid without valid prescriptions.
Police seized several Diclofenac and TT injection vials from the clinic along with a Samsung mobile phone allegedly used for maintaining contacts and financial transactions related to the illegal business.
Investigators are also verifying whether the accused treated patients for serious illnesses or prescribed medicines without authorisation. Police suspect that more people may have visited the clinic believing he was a qualified medical practitioner.
Officials said a criminal case was registered against the accused and further investigation is continuing. Police are also examining the role of others connected to the illegal practice, including those who allegedly allowed misuse of the drug licence.
The Warasiguda Police warned that strict action would be taken against unqualified persons endangering public health through illegal medical activities. Officials advised citizens to seek treatment only from registered medical practitioners and authorised hospitals or clinics. (Maxim News)
