Hyderabad: The playoff line up for IPL 2026 has been officially confirmed after Rajasthan Royals secured the final qualification spot with a crucial victory over Mumbai Indians in the last league match of the season.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals have advanced to the knockout stage after an intense battle that continued until the final day of league fixtures.
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished at the top of the points table with 18 points. Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad also ended with 18 points each. However, RCB claimed the top position due to their superior net run rate of 0.783. Gujarat Titans finished second with a net run rate of 0.695, while SRH secured third place.
Rajasthan Royals booked the final playoff berth after defeating Mumbai Indians by 30 runs. The win helped Rajasthan reach 16 points and eliminate Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders from the playoff race.
Punjab Kings suffered a disappointing exit after dominating the first half of the tournament. The team remained unbeaten in six of their first seven matches and looked set for a top two finish. However, a poor second half of the season cost them a playoff place.
IPL 2026 Playoff Schedule Finalised
Qualifier 1 will feature Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Gujarat Titans on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The winner will directly qualify for the IPL 2026 final.
The Eliminator will see Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals on May 27 at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Qualifier 2 will be played on May 28 between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator. The match will also take place in New Chandigarh.
The IPL 2026 final is scheduled for May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will aim to continue their strong form heading into the knockout stage. SRH impressed throughout the season with balanced performances from both batters and bowlers. Rajasthan Royals also enter the playoffs with momentum after their crucial victory over Mumbai Indians.
