Hyderabad, May 27: Hyderabad City Police arrested four persons after busting a Bengaluru based fake job racket that allegedly cheated unemployed youth by offering fraudulent software jobs.
According to Amberpet Police, the prime accused, Krithik (34), operated a fake consultancy firm in Bengaluru and used social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp to target job seekers.
Police said the accused promised software jobs and collected money from victims before issuing forged appointment letters.
Police Probe Fake Consultancy Job Fraud
Investigators said Krithik recruited Kishore, Sai and Preeti to assist in running the racket.
The accused allegedly collected Rs 2.30 lakh from Priya, a resident of Bagh Amberpet, after promising employment opportunities.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police detained Kishore alias Manjunath and recovered Rs 2 lakh in cash along with several SIM cards.
Police said analysis of the seized SIM card data helped identify other suspects, including Vemula Shankar from Piduguralla, Sai Ashok from Palnadu district and Gopikrishna from Guntur.
Officials suspect the gang cheated nearly 40 victims and believe the total fraud amount could run into several lakh rupees.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and possible links to wider cybercrime networks.
