POCSO Case: Bandi Bhagirath Sent To Cherlapally Central Jail

Hyderabad, May 29 (Maxim News): Bandi Bhagirath was shifted to Cherlapally Central Jail after the completion of police custody in the sensational POCSO case that created widespread attention across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Police produced the accused before Nampally Court on Wednesday after the court permitted custody period ended. Following the hearing, the court sent the accused to judicial remand. Subsequently, police shifted him to Cherlapally Central Jail under tight security.

The case relates to allegations of sexual assault on a minor girl. Earlier, investigators had secured police custody permission from the court to conduct detailed interrogation, collect evidence, and verify digital records connected to the case.

Police Collect Digital and Forensic Evidence

During the custody period, police reportedly gathered several crucial details and key evidence related to the investigation. On the first day, officials shifted Bandi Bhagirath from Cherlapally Jail to the Medchal Government Hospital for medical examination as part of legal procedure.

Later, investigators took the accused to Aranya Farmhouse in Moinabad for scene reconstruction linked to the alleged incident. Officials questioned him about the sequence of events and verified details connected to the farmhouse visit.

On the second day, police shifted the accused to a service apartment in Gachibowli for further interrogation. Investigators mainly focused on digital forensic evidence, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Snapchat chats allegedly exchanged between the accused and the victim.

Police reportedly confronted the accused with electronic evidence and recorded his answers during questioning. Investigators also questioned him about call recordings allegedly provided by the victim’s mother as part of the investigation.

Officials have already recorded statements from the victim, her mother, and friends of the accused who allegedly accompanied him to the farmhouse. Investigators also examined CCTV footage, call data records, and other digital evidence linked to the case.

Sources said the interrogation mainly focused on verifying the authenticity of electronic communication and reconstructing the timeline of the alleged incident.
