Hyderabad, May 29 (Maxim News): Employment opportunities in HYDRA are transforming the lives of transgender persons in Telangana by giving them financial stability, social respect, self confidence, and a new identity in society.
The transgender employees working with HYDRA said the jobs brought dignity and recognition into their lives. Officials stated that 16 transgender persons are currently working with the agency, including 11 trans women and five trans men.
The employees are actively participating in anti encroachment drives and public asset protection activities involving lakes, nalas, parks, and government lands in Hyderabad and nearby districts. Team members said they are ready to work anywhere and anytime as part of their field responsibilities.
HYDRA Eagle Team Gains Recognition
HYDRA officials named the transgender employees as the “HYDRAA Eagle Team” and involved them in several field operations. Officials said the team works fearlessly during anti encroachment drives without backing down, regardless of the influence of encroachers.
The Eagle Team reportedly played an important role in protecting nearly 862 acres of government land in Ailapur village of Ameenpur mandal in Sangareddy district. Recently, they also participated in operations related to protecting Idulakunta lake in Madhapur.
Apart from field duties, the transgender employees are also helping officials communicate with residents during demolition and anti encroachment drives. HYDRA authorities said the team members effectively calm tense situations, speak with women residents, and act as a bridge between the public and officials.
Officials further praised their patience, emotional understanding, and ability to handle field pressure during sensitive operations.
HYDRA Employment Brings Social Respect
Many transgender employees said the HYDRA jobs brought major changes in their personal and social lives. Several members stated that they earlier struggled for survival, faced social ridicule, and were often denied jobs despite seeking employment opportunities.
Gayathri said respect matters more than money in their lives. She stated that wearing the HYDRA uniform gives them pride and confidence whenever they step outside.
Gayathri added that transgender persons can succeed in any field if given proper opportunities. She thanked the Telangana government and HYDRAA officials for treating them equally during duty.
Ruchita said protecting lakes, parks, nalas, and government lands has given them a special identity in society. She stated that becoming part of a trusted public organisation like HYDRA brought happiness and recognition.
Meanwhile, Tanshi Rai said many transgender persons earlier survived through begging and regularly faced humiliation in society. However, she said people now speak respectfully to them after seeing them in HYDRA uniforms during field duties.
Officials believe the HYDRA employment for transgender persons is emerging as a model for inclusive governance, equal opportunity, and social empowerment in Telangana. (Maxim News)
