Revanth Reddy said the government established HYDRA to protect lakes, water bodies, and public lands from illegal encroachments. Referring to the agency’s creation, he remarked that he drew inspiration from Adolf Hitler while conceptualizing HYDRA. He said the government had no option but to create a strong enforcement mechanism as influential individuals were increasingly encroaching upon lakes and public resources.
The Chief Minister said poor families occupying water bodies could be viewed through a humanitarian lens. However, he stressed that wealthy individuals and large developers were systematically encroaching on lakes. He added that around 3,000 retired Army personnel were recruited for HYDRA operations. As a result, he claimed, no one now dares to encroach upon Telangana’s water bodies.
Jobs, Investments and Governance Reforms
Revanth Reddy said employment generation was one of the core objectives of the Telangana movement. He alleged that nearly two lakh government posts remained vacant during the previous BRS regime and accused the former government of failing to address the issue.
Criticizing the functioning of the Telangana Public Service Commission under the previous administration, he questioned how an RMP doctor could participate in recruitment processes and interviews for Group 1 services, engineering posts, medical positions, and other key government jobs. He said his government had completely restructured the recruitment system after assuming office.
According to the Chief Minister, the Congress government has provided 67,760 government jobs within just 15 months. He further announced that a notification for the recruitment of another 5,000 police personnel will be released shortly.
The Chief Minister said the government established a Skill University to bridge the gap between education and employment. He explained that leading corporate CEOs would serve on the university’s board and help design industry oriented curricula to improve employability among youth.
Eagle Force Targets Drug Menace
Revanth Reddy said the state government had launched the Eagle Force to combat the growing drug menace among youth. He described it as one of the country’s most effective anti drug forces and said the government was committed to eliminating narcotics networks across Telangana.
He stressed that protecting young people from drug abuse remains a top priority and said strict enforcement measures were yielding positive results.
Telangana Targets Global Investments
Highlighting Telangana’s investment ambitions, the Chief Minister said his competition was not with neighboring states such as Maharashtra or Gujarat. Instead, he said Telangana aims to compete with global economic powers such as China, Japan, and South Korea.
He asserted that Telangana is positioning itself as a major beneficiary of the global “China Plus One” strategy. Revanth Reddy said his vision is to make Telangana the preferred destination for international manufacturing, technology, and industrial investments.
“My slogan is simple. China Plus One means Telangana,” he said, expressing confidence that the state would emerge as a global manufacturing and innovation hub in the coming years.
The Chief Minister also took a swipe at Gujarat, alleging that investments do not naturally flow there and are often directed through policy driven advantages. Telangana, he said, would continue attracting investors through transparent governance, world class infrastructure, and business friendly policies.
EV Incentives and Sustainable Development
Revanth Reddy highlighted the government’s commitment to sustainable development and green mobility. He said Telangana introduced a zero tax policy for electric vehicles to encourage eco friendly transportation.
The Chief Minister revealed that the policy has resulted in a revenue sacrifice of nearly ₹2,000 crore. Despite the financial impact, he said the government remains committed to reducing pollution and promoting clean energy adoption.
Farmer Welfare Remains a Priority
Turning to agriculture, Revanth Reddy criticized the Centre for limiting its role to announcing Minimum Support Prices while leaving procurement responsibilities largely to state governments.
He said the Telangana government was actively procuring paddy, maize, and other crops to protect farmers’ interests. Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, farmers receive ₹12,000 per acre as investment support.
The Chief Minister stated that Telangana once ranked among the states with the highest number of farmer suicides after Maharashtra. He said the Congress government has worked to reduce agrarian distress by implementing major welfare measures.
According to him, the government waived farm loans worth ₹20,616 crore benefiting 25,035 farmer families after coming to power.
Women Empowerment Through SHGs
Revanth Reddy said women empowerment remains a key pillar of Telangana’s development agenda. He noted that nearly 67 lakh women are receiving financial support through Self Help Groups.
The government is providing interest free loans to SHG members to encourage entrepreneurship, financial independence, and rural economic growth. He said empowering women economically would play a crucial role in Telangana’s long term progress.
Football, Messi and Personal Reflections
The Chief Minister also shared personal insights during the interaction. A football enthusiast, Revanth Reddy recalled playing the sport regularly in his younger days.
Although official responsibilities leave little free time now, he said he continues to follow football closely. He revealed that football legend Lionel Messi has been invited to Telangana and expressed hope that he would find time to watch the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Revanth Reddy concluded by reaffirming his government’s commitment to transparent governance, employment generation, investment promotion, environmental protection, and inclusive development across Telangana. (Maxim News)
