Telangana Academic Calendar 2026-27 Released

Hyderabad, June 7: The Telangana School Education Department has released the academic calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, detailing working days, examination schedules, vacations, and co-curricular activities for students from Classes I to X.

The new academic calendar provides a structured roadmap for schools across the state. According to the schedule, educational institutions will function for a total of 227 working days during the academic year. The last working day has been fixed as April 23, 2027, while the summer vacation will commence on April 24 and continue until June 13, 2027.

The department has also outlined the schedule for formative and summative assessments to ensure smooth academic planning throughout the year.

Telangana Academic Calendar 2026-27 Examination Schedule

As per the calendar, Formative Assessment-I (FA-1) will be completed by July 31, 2026, while FA-2 is scheduled to conclude by September 21, 2026.

The Summative Assessment-I (SA-1) examinations will be conducted from October 1 to October 9, 2026.

Further assessments include FA-3 by December 10, 2026, while FA-4 will be completed by January 27, 2027 for Class X students and by February 15, 2027 for Classes I to IX.

The department has scheduled Pre-final Examinations for Class X before February 28, 2027. The SSC Public Examinations will be held in March 2027.

For Classes I to IX, Summative Assessment-II (SA-2) will be conducted from April 9 to April 19, 2027.

Vacation Schedule Announced

The Telangana Academic Calendar 2026-27 includes three major holiday periods during the academic year.

Dussehra holidays will be observed from October 10 to October 22, 2026Christmas holidays for missionary schools will be from December 23 to December 27, 2026, while Sankranti holidays are scheduled from January 13 to January 17, 2027.

In addition to academic activities, schools have been instructed to conduct daily sports sessions and organize yoga and meditation programmes during or after the morning assembly. The department has also directed schools to continue remedial classes for students from Classes I to IX until the end of September to strengthen learning outcomes.

The academic calendar aims to ensure effective planning of classroom activities while balancing academics, sports, and student wellness throughout the year.
