Stella Takes Charge As Director Of Hyderabad Meteorological Centre

Hyderabad, June 9: F.S. Stella has assumed charge as the new Director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad. She succeeds K. Nagaratna, who was recently transferred from the centre.

Before her appointment in Hyderabad, Stella served as the head and scientist of the IMD Meteorological Centre in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

Stella brings extensive experience in weather forecasting and meteorological services. Earlier, she worked as an Agriculture Forecaster at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai.

She also holds a notable distinction within the IMD. Stella was the first woman officer from the department to participate in an International Antarctic Expedition.

Her appointment comes as the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre continues to play a key role in weather monitoring and forecasting across the region.
