GHMC Removes 283 Encroachments In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 20: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation conducted a special drive on Saturday and removed 283 encroachments across different parts of the city to improve road access and urban mobility.

According to officials, the operation resulted in the removal of 79 permanent structures and 204 temporary encroachments across multiple GHMC zones.

GHMC Encroachment Removal Drive Across Hyderabad

The drive covered key locations in Shamshabad, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad and Secunderabad zones.

In Shamshabad Zone, officials cleared encroachments between RGIA Police Station and Mission Compound near Firangi Nala.

In Charminar Zone, the operation covered the stretch from SBI Bank to Reliance Trends along footpaths and service roads.

In Golconda Zone, encroachments were removed from Golconda Ward Office to Langar House Cross Road through Fathe Darwaja and further up to Bapu Ghat.

In Khairatabad Zone, teams carried out the drive from Basheerbagh Flyover near Hotel Megha City to Old MLA Quarters Road and up to Tandos Restaurant.

In Secunderabad Zone, officials cleared encroachments from Veer Savarkar Statue near Big Bazaar to Kachiguda Railway Station and further towards YMCA through Barkatpura.

GHMC stated that the initiative aims to keep roads free of obstructions and create safer movement for pedestrians and motorists.

Officials added that from April 4 till date, a total of 2,620 encroachments have been removed across GHMC limits under the ongoing special enforcement campaign.
