Hyderabad: A Mumbai based couple was killed in a road accident in Siddipet district in the early hours of Sunday after their moped reportedly rammed into a tractor moving in the same direction on Rajiv Rahadari near Lakdaram village.
The victims were identified as Ch Mahendra Laxman, 28, and his wife Deeksha, 25, natives of Mancherial district who were living in Mumbai. Police said the couple was travelling to Mancherial when the accident took place under the Kukunoorpally police station limits.
Mahendra died on the spot, while Deeksha suffered critical injuries and died while being shifted to hospital. The accident occurred when their two wheeler hit a tractor on the highway, police said.

According to preliminary information, the couple was heading towards Mancherial from Hyderabad side when their moped collided with the tractor near Lakdaram village on Rajiv Rahadari. The impact of the collision left both riders severely injured.
Local police reached the spot soon after the incident and shifted the injured to hospital. While Mahendra was declared dead at the scene, Deeksha succumbed to her injuries on the way for treatment.
Police have registered a case and taken up further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. More details are awaited.
