Heavy Rain Warning For Telangana From June 23 To 28

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Telangana from June 23 to 28, signalling a fresh spell of monsoon activity across the state and a likely drop in day temperatures over the coming days.

According to IMD Hyderabad, heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is likely at isolated places in several districts on June 23 and 24. The districts under warning are Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Medak and Kamareddy.

The weather department has extended the heavy rain warning to more districts on June 25. These include Jagtial, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Sangareddy.

For the period from June 26 to 28, IMD has issued a general heavy rainfall warning for Telangana. It said heavy rain is very likely at isolated places across the state, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph are also expected in isolated areas.

Hyderabad among districts under rain watch as monsoon activity revives

The IMD has also forecast a gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius over the next five days. Day temperatures across Telangana are expected to remain in the range of 36 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius during this period.

In addition to the rainfall warning, the weather office has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for Monday for several districts. These include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.

The latest forecast indicates a revival of the southwest monsoon over Telangana after a recent spell of hot and humid weather in several districts. With Hyderabad also under the rain watch from June 25, residents have been advised to stay alert for sudden showers, lightning and gusty winds, especially during evening and night hours.

People in low lying areas and those commuting during thunderstorms have been advised to follow weather updates and exercise caution. Motorists may also face traffic slowdowns in parts of Hyderabad and adjoining districts if heavy spells trigger waterlogging during peak hours.
