Hyderabad Man Held For Stabbing Neighbour Over Affair Suspicion

Hyderabad, June 23: Police arrested Shivaji, son of Sreenu, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, for allegedly stabbing and killing his neighbour Nagaraju over suspicion of an illicit affair with his wife.

Two Town Police Station Inspector M. Karunakar and his team apprehended the accused after he returned to his residence following the crime.

DSP Adinarayana disclosed the details at a press conference held at Two Town Police Station on Tuesday.

According to police, Shivaji suspected that his wife Nageswari was in an illicit relationship with Nagaraju, who also belonged to the same village of Ambedkar Nagar.

On the night of June 21, at approximately 10:20 pm, Shivaji allegedly conspired to kill Nagaraju. Police said his wife Nageswari and his sister Parishuddha alias Prameela instigated him to carry out the act.

The accused then proceeded to Nagaraju’s residence with a knife.

Suspect Confesses to Stabbing; Knife and Clothing Recovered by Police

Shivaji allegedly attacked Nagaraju while he was asleep inside his home. He stabbed the victim, inflicted severe injuries, and fled the scene. Nagaraju succumbed to the stab wounds. The accused returned to his own home thereafter, which led to his prompt arrest.

During interrogation, Shivaji confessed to committing the murder, police said.

Furthermore, investigators recovered the knife used in the killing and the T-shirt Shivaji wore at the time of the incident. Both items serve as key material evidence in the case.

Police subsequently took the accused to Two Town Police Station and sent him to judicial remand.

The role of Nageswari and Parishuddha alias Prameela in the conspiracy is under active investigation. Further legal action will follow based on the findings, police confirmed.

Under Indian law, murder is punishable under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, which replaced the Indian Penal Code.

Abetment of murder also carries serious penal consequences for those who instigate the act.
