Food Safety Raids In Hyderabad Reveal Hygiene Violations

Hyderabad, June 28: Food Safety officials under the Cyberabad Commissionerate conducted surprise inspections at several restaurants in Hyderabad’s IT corridor and found multiple violations related to hygiene, food storage and safety standards. Improvement notices were issued to establishments where serious deficiencies were detected.

The inspection teams visited restaurants in Gachibowli, Hitech City, Madhapur and Kondapur. Officials assessed kitchen hygiene, food handling practices, storage conditions and compliance with food safety norms.

Food Safety Raids Expose Multiple Violations

At Shah Gaus restaurant in Gachibowli, officials found flies inside food preparation areas, unsanitary kitchen conditions, open drainage and food items without proper labels. The restaurant also lacked mandatory medical fitness certificates for staff. Officials assigned a hygiene score of 65 percent and issued an improvement notice.

At another inspected establishment, officials recorded a hygiene score of 67 percent and identified deficiencies in food safety compliance and employee documentation.

During inspections at Ideal Kitchen in Madhapur, officials reportedly found cockroaches near stored flour and noticed black gram contaminated with worms. Authorities also identified concerns regarding raw material storage practices. The restaurant received a hygiene score of 67 percent and was issued a notice.

At Palamuru Grill in Kondapur, inspection teams detected alleged label tampering and found expired mushrooms in storage. Officials discarded old food items at the site and also noted rusty freezers and poor kitchen hygiene conditions. The restaurant received a hygiene rating of 60 percent.

Food Safety officials warned that stricter action may follow if establishments fail to address the identified violations and comply with prescribed food safety standards.
