Hyderabad, July 10 (Maxim News): A major fire broke out at Moosi Lane in Chaderghat, Hyderabad, on July 10, 2026, engulfing several motor mechanic workshops, a decoration materials warehouse and other commercial establishments.
Fire officials said the blaze has been brought under control, while cooling operations are continuing to prevent any re-ignition.
The fire initially erupted in a decoration materials warehouse near the Musi River before spreading rapidly to nearby automobile and mechanical workshops. The presence of plastic materials, thermocol, decorative lighting equipment and gas cylinders intensified the blaze, with several cylinder explosions reported during the incident.
Seven Fire Tenders Deployed to Contain Chaderghat Blaze
Upon receiving the emergency call, the Telangana Fire Services Department immediately rushed fire tenders to the scene. A total of seven fire tenders were deployed, and firefighters launched an intensive operation to contain the flames.
The department confirmed that the fire has now been brought under control. Fire personnel are currently carrying out cooling operations to eliminate any possibility of the blaze reigniting.
According to officials, there are no reports of casualties or injuries so far. Thick smoke from the fire spread across nearby areas, causing panic among residents and motorists. Traffic in the locality was also affected while firefighting operations were underway.
Hyderabad District Fire Officer Thagaram Venkanna is personally supervising the operation at the site and monitoring the situation.
Authorities said the exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage to commercial establishments will be determined after firefighting operations are fully completed and a detailed assessment is conducted.
AIMIM Malakpet MLA Ahmed Balala visited, flanked by active party workers and supporters.
Officials are expected to inspect the affected premises before preparing a final damage report. More details are awaited.
