Telangana SIR Registration | Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): The Telangana SIR registration process will now continue until August 3, following a decision by the Election Commission to extend the deadline for submitting Enumeration Forms.
The Commission also announced a revised election roll schedule, giving eligible voters additional time to complete the registration process.
Earlier, the Commission had fixed July 24 as the last date for submitting Enumeration Forms. However, it extended the deadline after receiving requests from political parties and public organisations across the state.
Telangana SIR Registration: Revised Schedule Announced

Under the revised schedule, the Election Commission will accept claims and objections until September 9. Thereafter, officials will verify the applications and prepare the electoral rolls. Finally, the Commission will publish the final voter list on October 12.
The extension comes after political parties, social organisations, and public representatives sought more time for the Telangana SIR registration process. They argued that many eligible voters, especially in several districts, were still unaware of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Therefore, they requested the Commission to extend the deadline for receiving Enumeration Forms.
Responding to these representations, the Election Commission approved the extension. As a result, eligible voters now have additional time to submit their forms and ensure that their names appear correctly in the electoral rolls.
The Telangana SIR registration exercise aims to update and verify the state’s electoral rolls before future elections. During the process, election officials verify voter details, add the names of eligible citizens, remove duplicate or ineligible entries, and correct errors in the voter database. Consequently, the exercise helps maintain accurate and transparent electoral rolls.
Meanwhile, election officials have urged eligible citizens to complete the registration process well before the new deadline. They have also advised voters to verify their details carefully while submitting the Enumeration Forms to avoid discrepancies during the revision process.
Furthermore, officials said they will continue awareness campaigns across the state to encourage greater public participation. They expect the extension to improve enrolment and ensure that more eligible citizens are included in the final electoral rolls. (Maxim News)
