Delhi/Internet/Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): Balochistan activists have shocked the Pakistani government. The activists, who have been fighting for separation from Pakistan for decades, have issued an statement (unverified claim originating from a viral statement and social media posts circulating online) declaring Balochistan as an independent country (Republic of Balochistan).
They have stated that 85% of the territory in Balochistan is under the control of their forces. They have not only unveiled the national anthem and national flag named ‘Maa Chukain Balochani’ but also finalized the ‘Balochi Falsa’ as the country’s currency.
They have made it clear that they will continue to control the gold and copper mines, more than 150 gas fields and 1,200 coal mines in their territory.
”There may be no heavy fighter jets, helicopters, tanks and missiles. “But, with an army, navy and air force of 500,000, we can drive out Pakistani forces from our region by the end of this year,” the statement said.
It appealed to the international community to recognize it as an independent country. Geographically, Balochistan is the largest province in Pakistan.
About 44% of the territory falls within this region. It is strategically very important with its borders with Iran on one side and Afghanistan on the other. This is a region rich in gold, copper and natural gas resources.
However, the people there have been experiencing poverty for decades. At the time of the partition of India in 1947, there was an independent state called Kalat Khanate in Balochistan. It was forcibly annexed by Pakistan in 1948.(Maxim News)
