Bengaluru, July 18: Police have registered an FIR after a hoax bomb threat was reported on an IndiGo flight scheduled to operate from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad on July 16.
The threat was received shortly before the aircraft’s departure from Kempegowda International Airport, prompting an immediate security response.
According to police, the incident involved IndiGo flight 6E-6423, which was scheduled to depart Bengaluru at 8 pm.
At around 7.35 pm, a crew member discovered a handwritten note inside the forward lavatory stating, “Don’t go. Bomb Hai! Please.”

In its complaint to the KIAL Airport Police Station, IndiGo stated that the hoax threat disrupted flight operations and raised serious concerns about the safety of passengers, crew and the airline.
The airline requested police to investigate the matter, identify the person responsible and initiate appropriate legal action.
Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR and launched an investigation. Officials are examining available evidence to trace the individual behind the threat and determine the motive.
Authorities have reiterated that bomb threats, even if false, are treated with utmost seriousness because they affect passenger safety and disrupt airport operations.
