SIO Telangana Stages Protest, Seeks NTA Abolition And Minister’s Resignation

Hyderabad, July 24 (Maxim News) : The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Telangana organised a solidarity gathering near Charminar on Friday, alleging police action against peaceful student protesters and demanding reforms in the national examination system.

The organisation also sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

SIO Telangana raises demands over examination reforms

Students and youth participated in the gathering, where speakers called for accountability, protection of students’ democratic rights and reforms in the conduct of national-level examinations.

Addressing the gathering, SIO Telangana State President Mohd. Faraz Ahmed alleged that repeated examination irregularities, paper leaks and administrative failures had eroded the confidence of students and parents.

He claimed that examination-related controversies had created uncertainty, anxiety and mental stress among candidates preparing for competitive tests.

Faraz Ahmed also criticised the alleged use of force against peaceful protesters, stating that democratic protests should be protected and not suppressed.

SIO Telangana demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The organisation also called for the National Testing Agency to be scrapped, alleging that it had failed to conduct examinations in a fair, transparent and credible manner.

The organisation further demanded strict action against those responsible for examination irregularities and paper leaks. It also urged the government to establish a transparent, accountable and student-friendly examination system.

SIO Telangana reiterated its commitment to safeguarding students’ rights and called for the protection of the constitutional right to peaceful protest. (Maxim News)
