Polavaram, July 24: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said teachers are the backbone of the education system and stressed that educators and parents must work together to shape students into responsible citizens.
Addressing a Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) in Rampachodavaram under the Polavaram region, the Chief Minister said the State government was committed to strengthening education and student welfare.
Focus on Education and Student Welfare
Naidu said there was no shortage of teachers in Andhra Pradesh and credited them with playing a vital role in building the future of children.
He said the government had made arrangements to ensure that children study in a happy and supportive environment while providing nutritious meals to students across the State.
Describing children as the country’s future assets, the Chief Minister said the government was implementing several welfare programmes to improve educational opportunities and support economically weaker families.
Welfare Schemes and Tribal Development
Naidu said financial assistance was being provided to mothers for the education of children, adding that ₹10,120 crore was being disbursed for the benefit of 67 lakh children.
He also said ₹664 crore was being allocated for nearly five lakh beneficiaries in tribal areas and assured that tribal students would receive priority support for higher education, including admissions to premier institutions.
The Chief Minister announced that the Sanjeevani programme would be launched in August and said the government planned to provide free solar power facilities to every household.
He added that despite financial constraints, the government was continuing welfare programmes with a special focus on education and improving living standards.
Naidu said the Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) initiative was aimed at strengthening coordination between parents and teachers to ensure the holistic development of children.
