Hyderabad, July 27: HYDRAA received 42 public grievances on Monday, with several complaints seeking protection of government land from alleged encroachments across Hyderabad and surrounding districts. Residents of Moosapet urged the agency to safeguard government land valued at nearly ₹600 crore that was earmarked for educational institutions.
Residents of Moosapet informed HYDRAA that the state government had allotted two acres of land between Kukatpally and Moosapet villages in Medchal Malkajgiri district for a government school and a Zilla Parishad High School. They alleged that the land remains vulnerable to encroachment as the proposed school buildings have not been constructed.
According to the complaint, the government owns 10.18 acres in the area. Of this, four acres were allotted to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for a drinking water treatment plant, while three acres were allocated for government schools. Residents alleged that construction agencies have occupied the two acres reserved for schools along with the remaining 4.18 acres of government land by erecting temporary structures.
The complainants requested HYDRAA to immediately secure and fence the entire 6.18 acres to prevent further encroachment.
Another complaint alleged that a ready mix concrete plant operating in Survey No. 419 of Dundigal village is causing severe air and noise pollution, affecting nearby schools and residential colonies.
HYDRAA Additional Commissioner D. Anand Kumar reviewed all 42 complaints received during the public grievance session and directed the concerned officials to take necessary action.
Among the other complaints, residents of Kuntlur village in Abdullapurmet Mandal sought protection of nearly 100 acres of Bhoodan and government land spread across Survey Numbers 215 to 224, alleging fresh encroachments despite earlier demolition drives.
Plot owners of Bhavani Nagar in Kollur village requested HYDRAA to restore roads and parks in the layout, alleging that encroachers had occupied public spaces and erased layout boundaries.
Residents of the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation’s Weaker Section Colony in Mansoorabad complained about illegal constructions on land reserved for public amenities under the 1985 HUDA layout.
Another petitioner sought intervention over Pedda Cheruvu in Sardarnagar village, alleging that artificial water accumulation outside the notified Full Tank Level and buffer zone has rendered private lands unusable for more than five years.
Residents of Arunodaya Society in Narsingi also urged HYDRAA to protect over 14,000 square yards of park land, alleging illegal registrations, unauthorised construction and encroachments on spaces reserved for public use.
