New Delhi, July 31: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday criticised the FIR registered against 25 year old Ruchika Singh over alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He questioned whether similar action would be taken against members of the BJP IT Cell for alleged abusive online conduct.
CJP Defends Ruchika Singh After FIR
In a video message, Dipke said that if criminal cases were being registered over the use of abusive language, authorities should also examine alleged online abuse directed at women by members of the BJP IT Cell.
He further referred to past controversial remarks made by political leaders, including BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri during a Lok Sabha session in 2023, and alleged that abusive language had also been used by other BJP leaders in public.
Dipke questioned whether different standards were being applied in similar cases. He argued that while abusive language may be inappropriate, it should not automatically result in criminal prosecution. He claimed that, if the same standard were applied uniformly, many complaints would also be filed against BJP leaders and social media supporters.

Meanwhile, CJP spokesperson Ratna Singh said a team of lawyers was handling Ruchika Singh’s case and expressed hope that no punitive action would be taken against her. She added that the party was awaiting official confirmation regarding the legal proceedings.
Singh also appealed to the public to share videos or other evidence if they witnessed any alleged harassment by individuals during the controversy, stating that such material could help authorities take appropriate action.
CJP national spokesperson Saurav Das also criticised the FIR, describing it as a misuse of the criminal justice system. He urged law enforcement agencies to prioritise serious criminal cases instead of targeting a young individual.
The FIR against Ruchika Singh was registered following allegations that she made objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister. Police have not yet released further details on the progress of the investigation.
