Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman died after suffering an electric shock while washing clothes at a house in Bhawani Nagar, Talab Katta, on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Tahera Bee, a native of Osmanabad district in Maharashtra. She had been staying at her sister’s residence in Bhawani Nagar.
According to police, Tahera Bee accidentally came into contact with an electric current while washing clothes at the house.
Family members immediately shifted her to a nearby private hospital, where she was given first aid. As her condition remained critical, doctors referred her to Osmania General Hospital for advanced treatment.
Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
Police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the electrocution.
