Heavy Flood Inflow To Srisailam Reserves, 2.09 Lakh Cusecs Of Flood From Jurala

Amaravati/Hyderabad, Aug 4 (Maxim News): As the flood from Maharashtra and Karnataka continues to reach Jurala, the Krishnamma river is flowing downstream from Narayanpur Dam. Keeping in mind the flood flow coming from there, the authorities opened 27 gates of the Jurala project on Tuesday and released water downstream, resulting in a flood flow of 2.09 lakh cusecs from Jurala to Srisailam reservoir in Nandyal district.

The water level in Srisailam has reached 859.3 feet against the full water level of 885 feet. The water level is currently at 103.8 TMC against the full water level of 215.8 TMC. Heavy rains in Karnataka have caused flooding in Krishna Basin projects. Flooding continues in Almatti, Narayanpur, Tungabhadra, Jurala and Srisailam.(Maxim News)
