Hyderabad, August 8: Telangana EAGLE Force arrested seven people in two separate operations in Miyapur and Saifabad for allegedly trafficking drugs across states.
Police seized mephedrone and opium worth Rs 12.65 lakh. They also recovered mobile phones, cash and other material from the accused.
Rajasthan Based Networks Supplied Drugs to Hyderabad
Police said the accused used couriers, private buses, trains and other vehicles to transport drugs to Hyderabad for local distribution.
In the Miyapur case, police arrested Madhu Ram, 29, Mahendra Patel, 36, and Dharmendra, 38. All three are natives of Rajasthan and were allegedly involved in distributing drugs locally.
Police seized around 1.031 kg of opium and 18 grams of mephedrone from them. Investigators identified Rajasthan based Mahender Kumawath as their alleged supplier. He reportedly sent the drugs through Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
In the Saifabad case, police arrested four people near Parishram Bhawan while they were allegedly attempting to sell mephedrone.
Police recovered around 7 grams of mephedrone from the group. Investigators identified Harinder Devda of Jalore, Rajasthan, as the alleged kingpin. He reportedly supplied mephedrone to Hyderabad based peddlers through associates.
Police said drug supplies from Rajasthan have increased in recent years. Since 2023, Telangana EAGLE Force and police have intercepted 78 attempts to transport narcotics into Telangana from Rajasthan.
