Hyderabad, August 14: Two controversial banners targeting Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh were removed by police in Humayun Nagar after they were found erected late Thursday night.
According to police, the banners were noticed around 11.30 pm near Jahanara Masjid and opposite a newly constructed house reportedly belonging to Salman Khan of Hyderabad Youth Courage (HYC).
The banners carried a photograph of Raja Singh with an alleged footwear mark placed over his face. They also contained provocative language and appealed to people to sign in support of a campaign against the MLA.
The matter was brought to the attention of senior police officials after a complaint was reportedly received.
Police Remove Controversial Banners in Humayun Nagar
Mehdipatnam Inspector S Mallesh said police officials immediately reached the location after being alerted about the banners.
Both banners were removed from the area to prevent any further escalation.
Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the erection of the banners and are examining the complaint and available information.
