Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning a technology-driven platform to monitor advertisement assets across the Core Urban Region (CURE) and improve enforcement and revenue collection.
The proposed Advertisement Monitoring, Inspection, Revenue and Enforcement System (AdMIRE) will provide an integrated web and mobile platform for managing outdoor advertising assets.
The system will include digital asset identification, GIS-based location tracking, field inspections, inventory management, revenue assessment, payment tracking and compliance monitoring.
AdMIRE to Digitise Hyderabad’s Advertisement Network
The CURE framework covers GHMC, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, HMDA, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited and L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department will oversee the framework, while GHMC will act as the nodal agency for implementing AdMIRE.
Around 3,000 to 4,000 hoardings and unipoles on private sites are expected to be mapped. Nearly 20,000 other advertisement assets will also be brought under the system.
These assets include pole kiosks, bus shelters, traffic umbrellas, central medians, foot-over-bridges and obligatory spans.
Each advertisement asset will receive a machine-readable identification marker. This could include a QR code, barcode, RFID or NFC tag.
Field officials will be able to scan these markers through a mobile application and access details about individual assets.
The proposed multi-tenant platform will allow participating urban local bodies to maintain their own data while giving GHMC access to consolidated information.
The system will also digitise advertisement permissions, automate fee and penalty calculations and enable geo-tagged inspections.
Officials expect AdMIRE to standardise advertisement management, improve compliance and reduce revenue leakages. The platform is also expected to provide real-time data on advertising assets, revenue collection and enforcement across the CURE region.
