Revanth Reddy returned to Hyderabad on Sunday after completing his UK visit. He later addressed the media at the Telangana Secretariat and explained the developments surrounding his cancelled US tour.

The Chief Minister said his team had informed the Centre about all planned programmes. He said the US visit focused on education, sports and attracting investments to Telangana.

According to Revanth Reddy, the Centre approved his UK visit but rejected permission for the US leg of the trip. He said the External Affairs Ministry cited political reasons for the decision.

The Chief Minister questioned the reason for applying different standards to the two visits. He also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain why the Centre approved his UK programme but rejected the US leg.

Revanth Reddy said he planned to use the US visit to explore opportunities in education and sports. He also intended to engage with potential investors, according to his statement.

Revanth Reddy US Tour: CM Raises Gujarat Comparison

Revanth Reddy also compared his case with the US and Canada travel approval reportedly granted to the Gujarat Chief Minister. He questioned why the Centre allowed that visit while rejecting his US programme.

He alleged that the decision affected Telangana’s interests rather than his personal plans. He said investment opportunities could benefit the state and create wider economic prospects.

The Chief Minister also criticised BJP leaders from Telangana over their response to the issue. He asked whether they supported Gujarat over Telangana on matters involving development and investment.

Revanth Reddy further alleged that some BJP leaders provided misleading information to the Centre about his proposed visit. He rejected suggestions that his foreign tour lacked transparency.

He said his office had followed the required process and provided details about the proposed programmes. He also said the UK and US visits formed part of the same broader foreign outreach plan.

The Chief Minister described the denial as discriminatory and said Telangana could not accept such treatment. He alleged that political considerations influenced the decision.

Revanth Reddy also alleged that some interests wanted to prevent Telangana from attracting investments that could otherwise go to Gujarat. He described this as part of a broader political agenda.

However, these claims represent the Chief Minister’s position on the matter. The Centre’s decision and its stated reasons remain central to the ongoing political debate.
