Hyderabad, August 25: Hyderabad police have arrested 11 fake doctors who allegedly treated patients without recognised medical qualifications.
The arrests followed raids at several locations across the city. Police acted on credible information about people practising medicine without valid credentials.
The suspects allegedly operated clinics despite lacking recognised medical degrees. They reportedly prescribed medicines, administered injections and gave antibiotics to patients.
Police said the accused posed as qualified doctors and treated members of the public. Some allegedly used fake certificates to establish their credentials.
Investigators also found that some suspects allegedly used the names of reputed super speciality hospitals. They reportedly used those names to gain patients’ trust and offer medical services.
Police teams searched the clinics during the raids. Officers reportedly recovered fake letterheads, unauthorised medicines and medical equipment.
