Hyderabad, August 25: Gachibowli police traced two missing children within hours and reunited them with their parents.
The children, Pramila Murmu, 4, and Sangeetha, 3 and a half, went missing from a labour camp at Raghava Projects in Gachibowli.
According to the complaint, their co worker Chaku Soren took the children to a nearby shop. He reportedly told their parents that he would return with them shortly.
However, the children did not return for several hours. Their parents then searched nearby areas but could not find them.
As midnight passed, the parents grew increasingly worried. They approached the Gachibowli police station and filed a complaint at around 1 am.
CCTV footage helps Gachibowli police trace children
Police registered a missing persons case and immediately began an investigation. Officers checked CCTV footage from areas linked to the children’s disappearance.
The footage helped police trace Chaku Soren to Ghatkesar railway station. A police team reached the station and took him into custody.
Police also traced the two children and confirmed that they were safe. Officers later handed them over to their parents.
The quick response brought relief to the families. The parents thanked the police after the children returned safely.
The incident also highlights the importance of reporting missing children without delay. Early complaints can help police begin searches quickly and use CCTV footage to track movements.
Police are continuing their inquiry into why the children were taken to the railway station. Further details are expected after the investigation establishes the circumstances surrounding the incident.
