Hyderabad: Yash starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has delivered a massive opening at the Indian box office, crossing the ₹100 crore mark on its first day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic earned an estimated ₹101.10 crore net in India on Wednesday across all languages. Its reported India gross collection stands at around ₹140 crore.
The Geetu Mohandas directorial has recorded the second-highest opening day for an Indian film, behind Dhurandhar 2, which reportedly collected ₹103 crore on its first day.
Toxic Box Office Day 1 Records Massive Opening
The film was released in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The Hindi version emerged as the biggest contributor, followed by Kannada and Telugu.
Yash’s strong pan-India following helped Toxic attract audiences across multiple markets. The opening also marks his return to theatres after the success of KGF: Chapter 2.
The day-one figures show the actor’s continued box-office appeal. KGF: Chapter 2 had previously established Yash as one of India’s leading pan-India stars.

The film’s strong opening has also affected other releases. Awarapan 2, which had been performing steadily, witnessed a sharp decline after Toxic entered theatres.
The Emraan Hashmi starrer reportedly collected ₹90 lakh on its 13th day, compared with ₹3.75 crore on Day 12. Meanwhile, Batwara 1947 has ended its theatrical run with an India collection of ₹37.77 crore, according to the figures cited.
Despite its strong start, Toxic faces the challenge of sustaining momentum over the coming days. The film has received mixed reviews, making audience word-of-mouth crucial for its weekend performance.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair also feature in the action drama.
With more than ₹100 crore earned on its opening day, Toxic has made a powerful start and could post further gains if audience response remains strong.
