Hyderabad, August 27: Rajendranagar Police arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Nagendra Majhi, 23, a Nepali national working as a cook in Hyderabad.
The accused include one adult and one minor. Police used CCTV footage and technical investigation to trace and apprehend both suspects.
According to police, the victim worked as a Chinese cook at Chopstick Hotel in Attapur.
He lived with his wife Chandra Budha at Jana Chaitanya Phase-I, Rajendranagar. On August 24, 2026, at around 11:00 pm, he stepped out to smoke and never returned. His wife tried calling him. However, his phone was switched off.
Furthermore, at around 1:00 am on August 25, his wife searched the area. She found him lying on the roadside near under-construction Pranava Villas, Jana Chaitanya Colony.
He had a head injury on the left side of his forehead. His mobile phone was missing. She filed a complaint immediately.

Additionally, Inspector R. Venkatesh took up the investigation. CCTV footage from multiple locations revealed the accused attacked the victim.
They stole his mobile phone and fled on a Honda Activa two-wheeler. As a result, police added Section 309(6) BNS for robbery along with the murder charge under Section 103(1) BNS.
Moreover, police registered the case as Cr. No. 994/2026. The adult accused is Mohammed Sufiyan Sohil Farash, 21, son of Nayeem Khan.
The second accused is a 17-year-old Child in Conflict with Law. Consequently, the CCL’s identity remains protected under law.
Furthermore, police seized one Honda Activa two-wheeler and the victim’s mobile phone during the operation.
The operation was supervised by DCP Rajendranagar Zone S. Sreenivas, IPS, and ACP Rajendranagar Division T. Srinivas. Inspector R. Venkatesh led the field team with station staff.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that sustained CCTV analysis and technical evidence were the key tools in cracking this case.
Authorities warned that crimes caught on camera lead to swift arrests. The case is under further investigation.
