Hyderabad, Sept 7 (Maxim News): There was extreme tension during the Telangana Assembly sessions. BRS woman MLA Sunitha Laxma Reddy, who was going to the Assembly wearing a black saree, was stopped by the police and in the process, she expressed her grief and said that she was insulted by pulling her saree. Her tears in front of the Assembly created a stir.
BRS MLAs and MLCs are attending the assembly in black clothes in protest against the 1000-day rule of the Congress government. As part of this, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy left for the assembly wearing a black saree. However, she alleged that the police stopped her and in the process, she was insulted by pulling her saree. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy expressed deep grief over the police’s behavior. She burst into tears in front of the assembly. BRS leaders were furious at the police’s behavior, saying that this is how a woman MLA would be treated. On this occasion, Sabitha Indra Reddy consoled her.
Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said that today is a dark day in the history of the Assembly. She was furious that there is no security for women in the state.. and the lack of security in the Legislative Assembly is atrocious. We are not even wearing a black T-shirt.. but when we were asked why they were stopping us, the police acted brutally, she said. She questioned whether this is the respect that women get in public administration.
Former minister and BRS MLA Sabita Indra Reddy questioned whether we have the right to protest. She was furious that women were being pushed around without even considering them. She said that Congress leaders were boasting about their thousand-day rule. But she alleged that they were not being allowed to come to the Assembly so that the real facts would be known.
On the other hand, Harish Rao and Anil Jadhav, who came wearing black T-shirts, were stopped by the police in front of the assembly. Harish Rao took off his T-shirt and protested on the banyan tree when he was not allowed to enter the assembly wearing black T-shirts. Later, when he tried to enter the assembly, the police arrested him at the main gate. Also, a scuffle broke out when several BRS MLAs were stopped. Jagadish Reddy was injured in the leg. This incident caused tension in the vicinity of the assembly for a while.
BRS working president and former minister KTR expressed his anger over these incidents and warned that Revanth Reddy would be paid a certain amount. (Maxim News)
