Hyderabad, Sept. 10 (Maxim News): BRS MLAs have submitted a privilege motion against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in the Telangana Assembly.
BRS MLAs Lakshma Reddy, Mahipal Reddy and others met Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. They submitted a complaint seeking action against the Chief Minister.
The BRS leaders alleged that Revanth Reddy referred to a fake social media post in the Assembly. They claimed the post attempted to damage the reputation of former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao.
According to the BRS legislators, Revanth Reddy referred to KCR as the BRS international general secretary during his Assembly remarks.
The MLAs said the BRS has no such post. They also said a person named Sandhyarao has no connection with the party.
The BRS leaders alleged that the Chief Minister relied on a fake account created by the Congress IT cell. They accused him of making the reference without verifying its authenticity.
BRS Seeks Action Over Alleged Fake Social Media Post
The BRS legislators said the Chief Minister holds a constitutional position that carries significant responsibility. Therefore, they argued that information used on the Assembly floor should undergo proper verification.
They alleged that the reference misled the Assembly and the people of Telangana. They also claimed that the incident affected the dignity of the legislature.
The legislators asked Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar to examine their complaint. They sought action against Revanth Reddy under the rules governing breach of privilege.
