Delhi/Internet/Hyderabad, Sept 11 (Maxim News): MLA Sabita Indra Reddy has filed a complaint with the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women and a member of the National Human Rights Commission, alleging that a BRS woman MLA was attacked in front of the assembly. Later, she spoke to the media. ‘A riot took place at the assembly gate in Telangana like nowhere else in the country. This incident reminds me of the Kaurava Sabha. Women MLAs were dragged by their hair. Male MLAs were pushed down and trampled. Former minister Jagadishwar Reddy fell down in the police scuffle. Why were we not allowed inside the assembly, who have been in politics for 30 years? When we asked to allow at least women MLAs, the police did not listen. I believe that the Chief Minister himself gave the orders to attack us,’ Sabita said.
“We thought that the attack on us would be discussed in the assembly session. We thought that CM Revanth Reddy, the Minister for Legislative Affairs and the DGP would speak about this incident. But no one spoke up. They attacked us and filed cases against us. They complained that the MLAs had committed sexual harassment. They accused the Speaker of saying something to our MLC. They sent people to beat up KCR’s house. All this happened at the direction of the CM. Not even an FIR was registered for the attacks on women MLAs. They did not even give us a chance to express the insult we had suffered in the assembly. We did not get justice in the assembly. That is why we came to Delhi. This is something the Chief Minister should be ashamed of,” said Sabita.
Sabita said that the Congress came to power promising to fulfill the promises made within 100 days. The MLA criticized that the promises have not been fulfilled so far. She accused the Congress of committing land grabbing by putting one crore acres in the prohibited list under 22A. She flagged that the BRS leaders who were being questioned were attacked as witnesses in the Assembly. She expressed anger that Shikhandi was doing politics by putting women constables in front. She demanded that Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi respond to this incident. MLA Sabita said that she will bring this issue to the attention of Sonia and Rahul and is also writing letters to them.
