Hyderabad, Sept. 17: TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress government was not responsible for the Section 22A land controversy.
He made the remarks after meeting Telangana Congress affairs in charge Meenakshi Natarajan in Delhi on Thursday.
The two leaders discussed party affairs, organisational matters and pending appointments.
Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that the previous BRS government was responsible for land irregularities.
He accused the previous government of land grabbing and said an inquiry would be conducted into the allegations.
He also criticised the BRS leadership over its response to the ongoing 22A controversy.

Goud said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would decide whether a judicial inquiry should be ordered.
He welcomed the Chief Minister’s decision to investigate alleged land irregularities during the previous government’s tenure.
The TPCC chief also alleged that people who fought for Telangana had suffered losses while the KCR family benefited from land transactions.
These remarks are part of the ongoing political dispute over properties included in the Section 22A prohibited list. BRS leaders have accused the Congress government of mishandling the issue and have demanded a judicial probe.
The Congress government has maintained that several 22A issues relate to land classifications and records from earlier years. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has also alleged that some disputed properties were already on the prohibited list before the Congress government came to power.
Goud said he would explain Telangana’s development programmes and the government’s work to the Congress high command.
He also said discussions were underway on pending District Congress Committee appointments and other organisational posts.
Goud said the party would complete the appointment of DCC presidents as soon as possible.
He also said appointments to various corporations would be discussed with the party leadership.
