Yadagirigutta/Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): A tribal youth from the Erukala community died by suicide following a dispute over a motorcycle, with his family alleging that harassment by the grandson of a Yadagirigutta temple governing council member drove him to take the extreme step.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh. According to his family, he had a dispute with Pochaboyina Suresh Yadav, described as an LB Nagar Congress leader and grandson of Pochaboyina Eswaramma Yadav, a member of the Yadagirigutta Devasthanam Governing Council.
The family alleged that Rajesh was assaulted and harassed during a panchayat meeting following the dispute over the bike. They further alleged that the harassment continued for three days before Rajesh died by suicide.
Family Alleges Attempt to Settle Matter
Rajesh’s family has also levelled allegations against Eswaramma Yadav following his death. They claimed that she contacted Rajesh’s mother and attempted to settle the matter.
According to the family, Rajesh’s mother alleged that Eswaramma Yadav offered financial assistance and asked her to tell police that her grandson had no connection with the incident. The family has also alleged that there were attempts to protect Suresh Yadav’s political future.
An audio recording purportedly involving a conversation between Eswaramma Yadav and Rajesh’s mother has also surfaced, according to local reports. However, the authenticity and context of the recording have not been independently established.
Tribal organisations and other groups have demanded a detailed investigation into Rajesh’s death and action against those responsible if the allegations are established. They have sought registration of a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Suresh Yadav and Eswaramma Yadav.
The Yadagirigutta temple board’s 2026 membership list identifies Pochaboyina Eswaramma Yadav as a nominated member of the temple development governing board.
The allegations remain subject to police investigation and legal verification. Any criminal liability will depend on the evidence collected by the authorities.
