Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): Telangana BJP president N. Ramachander Rao has demanded that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy publicly disclose their personal and family assets before entering politics and their present holdings.
Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Rao said the disclosures could provide clarity amid allegations being exchanged between the ruling Congress and the BRS over land transactions. He also called for a comprehensive probe into allegations raised against both governments.
Rao referred to Revanth Reddy’s allegations in the Assembly concerning around 500 acres of land allegedly taken over during the previous BRS government. He also cited BRS allegations that private properties were being placed on the prohibited list under Section 22-A during the Congress government. Rao said any investigation should cover both sets of allegations.
BJP Calls for Probe Into Land Allegations Under BRS, Congress
Rao’s remarks come amid an ongoing political dispute over landholdings linked to KCR’s family. Revanth Reddy recently ordered an inquiry into land surrounding KCR’s farmhouse at Erravelli, with officials examining the legality of land holdings associated with the property.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has rejected the allegations and separately challenged Revanth Reddy to order an impartial judicial inquiry into the assets of both families.
Rao also criticised both Congress and BRS leaders over their references to the Nizam’s rule and recalled the violence in Telangana before Operation Polo. He alleged that successive governments had failed to adequately protect public interests.
The Telangana BJP president said his party would seek a comprehensive investigation into alleged land irregularities under previous and present governments if the current government did not act. These are political allegations, and the claims concerning land ownership and irregularities remain subject to official inquiries and legal proceedings.
