Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): Four members of the same family were killed and another was seriously injured after a speeding Innova lost control and overturned near Palamakula on the outskirts of Shamshabad.
The accident occurred when the vehicle reportedly hit a culvert before overturning. The victims were travelling to Hyderabad from their hometown, Mettugadda Thanda in Nawabpet mandal of Mahabubnagar district.
The deceased were identified as Ketawat Limbya (54), Ketawat Jamuna (45), Katrawat Mansingh (48) and Ketawat Vasram (45). All four belonged to the ST (Lambada) community. The car driver, Ashok, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Police Begin Investigation Into Shamshabad Road Accident
On receiving information, Shamshabad police reached the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured driver was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
The bodies were taken to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. Police suspect that excessive speed and reckless driving may have caused the accident.
Shamshabad police have registered a case and launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
