ACB NIMS Official | Hyderabad, Sept. 22: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar, Additional Medical Superintendent at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad.
According to the ACB, Bhaskar, 56, acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by allegedly indulging in corrupt practices and other dubious means during his service.
The ACB conducted searches on September 22 at his residence and seven other locations linked to his relatives, friends, alleged benamis and associates.
The searches were conducted under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018.

The ACB said it identified movable and immovable assets worth about ₹6.13 crore during the searches. The agency added that the market value of the properties could be several times higher than their documented value.
The assets listed by the ACB include one four-bedroom flat in a high-rise gated community in Kukatpally and two three-bedroom flats in Kukatpally.
Five two-bedroom flats were also identified in Manikonda, Petbasheerabad and Kukatpally. The agency also listed four open plots in Yadadri, Nandigama and Shamirpet, along with an 800-square-yard open plot in Visakhapatnam.
The ACB said the searches also found bank balances of around ₹41 lakh, Post Office deposits of ₹12 lakh, investments of ₹35 lakh in private financial institutions and mutual fund investments worth ₹29.55 lakh.
Gold ornaments weighing about 517.8 grams were also listed among the assets. The vehicles included a Jaguar, Audi, Tata Nexon, two Royal Enfield motorcycles, Vespa, Activa and Yamaha vehicles. Electronic gadgets worth around ₹5 lakh were also found.
The ACB further said Bhaskar had invested ₹1.30 crore in purchasing a flat involved in a dispute before the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT). It also alleged that ₹1.33 crore had been given as hand loans to various individuals.

The agency said verification of additional assets is continuing and the case remains under investigation. Registration of a disproportionate assets case does not by itself establish guilt.
