Hyderabad, Sept. 25: A youth died after coming under the wheels of a tusker truck during the Ganesh immersion procession at Khairatabad Junction on Friday.
The incident occurred near Metro Pillar No. 1167 amid traffic restrictions and security arrangements for the procession.
According to preliminary information, the youth was crossing the road when he fell under the moving truck.
He suffered multiple injuries and died at the spot.
His identity was not immediately known.
Police Probe Khairatabad Ganesh Immersion Accident
Khairatabad police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
Police took the truck driver into custody following the accident.
Meanwhile, the victim’s friends alleged that he was trying to escape after police personnel resorted to a lathi charge for crowd control.
Police have not confirmed the allegation.
The exact circumstances leading to the youth falling under the truck remain under investigation.
