Hyderabad, Oct. 4: Telangana Police’s elite counter-terrorism force, OCTOPUS, conducted a mock security drill at the historic Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad late Saturday night, along with other security agencies.
The exercise aimed to assess emergency response, rescue and evacuation procedures, response time and coordination among security personnel during a simulated security emergency.
The two-hour drill was conducted from 11 pm on Saturday to 1 am on Sunday in and around Mecca Masjid and the historic Charminar area, according to reports.
OCTOPUS Mock Drill At Mecca Masjid Tests Security Preparedness
Personnel from OCTOPUS and other security agencies participated in the exercise to assess their readiness to respond to a possible emergency.

The drill focused on coordination between security teams and their ability to respond quickly during a simulated incident, including rescue and evacuation operations.
Officials clarified that the exercise was only a mock drill. There was no actual security threat or emergency at Mecca Masjid or in the surrounding area.
