Hyderabad Power Demand Hits Record 4,114 MW

Hyderabad, Oct. 4: Hyderabad’s peak electricity demand touched a record 4,114 megawatts (MW) on October 1, reflecting the city’s rising power requirements. The demand within Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits peaked at 6.30 pm, according to records from TGSPDCL, TGTransco and GHMC.

The growing demand reflects the increasing electricity needs of residential areas, offices, IT facilities and commercial establishments across Hyderabad. Officials have also cited urban growth as a factor behind the rising load.

The latest figures underline the pressure on electricity infrastructure as Hyderabad expands. Maintaining reliable supply will require utilities to keep strengthening distribution networks and preparing for higher demand.
