Woman Arrested For Insulting Currency Note

Internet/Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): A female content creator has been arrested for making an obscene reel on Mahatma Gandhi. 47 Simran Patel from Surat, Gujarat, makes reels and posts regularly on Instagram. On the 1st of this month, she made a reel using a Rs.500 currency note. The reel was posted on Instagram. However, the police arrested her and took her to jail after she complained that the currency note was handled in an obscene manner in the reel. First, they went to her house and detained Simran.

However, Simran has apologized for what she did. Surat Police released a video on X called Before the Reel and After the Reel. The video shows Simran apologizing. They said that they received a complaint that the reel, which had Mahatma Gandhi’s image, contained obscene content, visuals, and gestures, and that is why Simran was arrested. The police registered a case against her under Section 67 of the IT Act on the complaint of a social activist named Dharmesh Gami. On this occasion, Surat Police appealed to the people not to post reels that could harm the harmony of the society. (Maxim News)
