Hyderabad, Oct. 31: The Telangana High Court has refused to postpone the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) examinations scheduled for November 6 and 7, allowing the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to conduct the exams as notified.
Justice K. Sarath passed the order on Friday while hearing a petition filed by U. Satish and six others. The petitioners sought a postponement, citing a clash with the Staff Selection Commission’s Junior Engineer (SSC-JE) examinations scheduled from November 2 to 6.
The candidates said they had been allotted examination centres in distant locations, including Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Nanded. They argued that travelling back to Telangana within 24 hours would make it difficult to appear for the AEE examinations.
TGPSC AEE Exams Schedule Remains Unchanged
The petitioners informed the court that they had submitted representations to the commission on October 5, 9 and 14, requesting a change in the examination schedule.

Opposing the petition, senior counsel P.S. Rajasekhar, appearing for TGPSC, argued that changing the schedule would cause difficulties because more than 40,000 candidates were expected to appear for the AEE examinations. In comparison, approximately 10,000 candidates were expected to take the SSC-JE examinations.
However, the commission offered to consider individual requests from candidates facing difficulties due to the examination clash. It also proposed facilitating their appearance in both examinations at their respective district headquarters.
TGPSC AEE Exams | High Court Directs TGPSC to Examine Individual Requests
The High Court directed TGPSC to examine representations submitted by affected candidates by 5 pm on October 30 and take an appropriate decision.
While asking the commission to consider individual requests, the court declined to interfere with the notified examination schedule.

The AEE examinations will therefore proceed on November 6 and 7 as planned, subject to any decisions taken by TGPSC on individual representations.
