KTR Takes Charge As TRS Working President
Hyderabad, Dec.17 (Maxim News): Kalvakuntla Taraka Ramarao today assumed charge as working president of the TRS in Telangana Bhavan here.
Earlier, KTR garlanded the statues of Telangana Talli and Telangana Ideologue Prof Jayashankar on the premises and Vedic pundits blessed KT Rama Rao on the occasion. Party senior leaders T Harish Rao congratulated KTR on the occasion followed by Home Minister Mahamood Ali, newly elected MLAs, MLCs, MPs Kavitha and several others greeted Rama Rao for taking over as the new working president of the TRS.
Later, an elated Rama Rao vowed to transform the party into a “Tiruguleni Rajakeeya Shakthi” (Indomitable Political Force) for 100 years. He also said the party will be strengthened at district, mandal and village levels. The TRS will play a key role to connect people with the government and people, KTR asserted. “The leaders and activists have to take the schemes to the doorsteps of the people and I will come to the rescue of people in distress. Irrespective of caste, religion and section, as the working president of the party, I will discharge duties to meet the expectations of the people”, he said.
While his sister and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha put vermilion on his forehead and gave traditional Harathi, wishing him victory, KTR participated in a rally of cultural fiesta to the party office. En route, hundreds of TRS activists and admirers cheered for Rama Rao raising slogans of ‘KTR Zindabad’ showering flower petals on him. The TRS activists turned up in a large number with flags, banners, drums and crackers, besides dancing to the popular beats of TRS party songs.
Addressing the party activists outside the Telangana Bhavan, the new Working President pledged to turn the party into a strong force within the State and work as a bridge between the party and the government. He thanked people for their blessings and assured to be available in their service.
Those who greeted him include former ministers Jagadish Reddy, P Srinivas Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, K Lakshma Reddy, P Mahender Reddy, Padma Rao, T Nageshwar Rao, MPs P Srinivas Reddy, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, former Speaker Suresh Reddy and Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and others.
